How We Rate Fried Pickles

🚫 A fried pickle should never be judged on a delivery or pickup order.
🌟 Taste (0-5)
The batter should ALWAYS be seasoned. The pickle itself needs to have a powerful flavor too. The best fried pickles usually contain a pickle that isn't from your typical deli.
🥪 Bread to Pickle Ratio (0-5)
For spears, both outside and pickle must crunch. For chips, the outer shell crunch is key. Easy to under or over batter.
💧 Juiciness (0-5)
Pickles cannot be too thin. This tends to happen with chips. A thin pickle will easily become over-battered leaving not enough juice.
🎯 Structure (0-5)
Clean bite required - no pickle sliding out from shell. If sliding occurs, pickle wasn't properly dried before battering.
🎁 Bonus: Sauce (0-3)
Bonus points for unique, complementary sauces. Ranch is boring! Prefer horseradish, chipotle, or sriracha-based options.
